Marketing guru and author Ryan Holiday has a new short book out on “growth hacker marketing”.

It is a really quick and cheap introduction to how traditional marketing strategies go up against growth hacker marketing strategies.

When every dollar of expenditure must achieve a return on investment,  the plethora of tools that enable marketers to track the effectiveness of their campaigns has led to a crisis for many traditional marketers.

Why? Because they realise how spending a lot of money on advertising doesn’t matter if you’re not winning your product category with the best product available in that market.

Watch the book trailer, I suggest buying it. A book is a cheap way to learn ideas – if it gets you think about tracking the effectiveness of your marketing spend then it is bloody cheap indeed.
