Both Costs And Benefits Must Be Taken Into Consideration

There are two sides to every story.

There are also two sides to every proposed public policy.

There are the costs.

There are the benefits.

You cannot claim one without considering the other.

This works both ways – miners can’t just say “jobs jobs jobs” and environmentalists can’t just say “global warming global warming global warming”.

There are multiple trade-offs involved and I’m skeptical of what both sides of the debate are offering up as “evidence”.

I trust the judgment of our professional and neutral public service on this issue.

They’re more likely to find that optimal level of regulation than the internet.
